The presented building is located on Expoziției Boulevard in sector 1 of Bucharest and consists of three buildings that share the same infrastructure developed on 3 levels.

The footprint of the infrastructure occupies the entire property of about 10000 m2 following the shape of the property limit (the shape of the letter L).

The superstructure of the high-rise building has 20 levels (including the ground floor and the technical floor) with the current floor area of approximately 2000 m2, and the superstructures of the small buildings have 9 floors (including the ground floor and the technical floor) having the current floor area of approximately 1750 m2 and 1500 m2

Infrastructure

The infrastructure is being developed at the height of 3 levels and has the function largely of parking lots and local ALA shelters at the level of the basement S3.

The infrastructure is irregularly shaped in plane in the form of the letter “L” with a length of 204,725 m and a width of 97.76 m.

The level heights, measured between the upper elevations of the concrete slabs, are 2.80 m in basement 3 and basement 2 and 3.47 m in the local basement 1 under the footprint of each building and 2.92 m in the rest of basement 1.

The infrastructure is designed in the form of a rigid box, protected with screens of perimeter slurry walls, and the foundation system is made as follows:

 

– on the high-rise building A – reinforced concrete raft of 1.90 m thickness assisted by piles with a diameter of 108 cm;
– on the reduced area of the building A – reinforced concrete raft of 1.30 m thickness assisted by piles with a diameter of 108 cm;
– on the area of the building B1 and B2 – reinforced concrete raft of 1.00 m thickness.
– outside the footprint of the towers – reinforced concrete raft of 0.60 m thickness.

 

The piles of the A-body have a diameter of 108 cm and an active length of 35 m with interax distances of 4.75 m and 7,125 m. The piles are injected at the base to increase capacity, and the concreting was carried out under bentonite mud.

The reinforced concrete structural walls of the basements have thicknesses ranging from 20 cm to 100 cm and the columns have sections from 50 x 50 cm to 80 x 125 cm. On the area of the civil defence shelter (ALA) where the load is high the columns have at the top of the basement 3 reinforced concrete drop-panels.

The floors of the infrastructure have RC slabs and have thicknesses of 20 cm, 25 cm and 30 cm thick over S3, 20 cm thick over S2 and 30 cm over S1.

Superstructure

Body A

The structure has the height regime 3B+P+12E/18E+Eth, part of the building retreating at the 12th floor. The structure has the function of offices.

FORMWORK PLAN CURENT LEVEL

The building has in plane the shape of the letter “U” with the maximum dimensions of 54.50 x 44.50 m. The superstructure has a total height, measured from the theoretical fixing level, of 74.14 m having the level heights as follows:

– ground 4.64 m
– 1st floor – 12 floor 3.75 m
– 13th floor – 18th floor 3.60 m
– technical floor 2.90 m

The structural system of the building consists of monolithic RC shear walls coupled as follows:

  • on the high area, 4 cores (two elevators, one that integrates the toilets and one that integrates the defoaming of the parking lots) coupled, of four coupled shear walls and reinforced concrete frames on the contour. The columns have a section size of 70 x 70 cm, 80 x 80 cm and 80 x 110cm, the latter shrinking their section from the 4th floor to 80 x 80cm. The beams are made of reinforced concrete and have a section height of 50 cm and 65 cm, except for the coupling beams that have the section height of 94 cm (130 cm with slab thickness and gap) and 74 cm (110 cm with slab thickness and gap) being decoupled from the slab for the integration of the necessary MEP layouts.
  • on the 13-level area of 2 staircase cores, a compound shear wall and reinforced concrete frames on the contour. The columns have the section size of 80 x 80 cm and 80 x 110cm the latter shrinking the section from the 4th floor to 80 x 80cm. The beams are made of reinforced concrete and have the section height of 50cm and 65 cm, except for the coupling beams that have the section height of 94 cm (130 cm with slab thickness and gap) being decoupled from the slab for the integration of the necessary MEP layouts.

On both areas, a gradual reduction in the thickness of some walls is achieved on the elevation of the building.

The floors of the superstructure are 16 cm thick slabs for the current floors and 20 cm thick for the floors of the terraces and are made of reinforced concrete supported by beams, walls, and columns.

B1 and B2 BUILDINGS

The structures have a height regime of 3B+P+7E+Eth and have the function of offices.

The buildings have in plan the rectangular shape, local flaring, which are inscribed in a rectangle with the maximum dimensions of 22.50 x 86.50 m for the B1 body and of 22.50×68.00 m for the B2 body. Superstructures have a total height, measured from the theoretical fixing level, of 33.34 m having the elevations as follows:
– ground floor 5.24 m
– 1st floor – 7th floor 3.60 m
– technical floor 2.90 m
The structural system is dual with predominant shear walls. The structures have the same structure layout, namely:
– the B1 body has 3 cores (2 stairs and one of elevators), 5 shear walls and reinforced concrete frames with columns having the section 60 x 60 cm, 60 x 80 cm, 60 x 120 cm and 60 x 190 cm. The beams are made of reinforced concrete and have the height of the section 50 cm except for the external transverse beams that have a section height of 65 cm.
– the B2 body has 3 cores (2 of stairs and one of elevators), 10 shear walls and reinforced concrete frames with columns having the section 60 x 60 cm, 60 x 80 cm and 60 x 120. The beams are made of reinforced concrete and have the height of the section 50 cm except for the external transverse beams that have a section height of 65 cm.
On the elevation of the building, a gradual reduction in the thickness of some walls is achieved.
The floors of the superstructures are made using 16 cm thick slabs for the current floors and 20 cm thick for the floors of the terraces. The slabs are made of reinforced concrete supported by beams, walls and columns.
